Work Gloves in Busan
by Ana Campos
A narrow alley in Haeundae glows with the amber haze of late afternoon sun, illuminating a row of stacked plastic seed trays resting on a concrete ledge outside a small nursery. The trays hold young leafy greens, their green leaves catching the warm light, while a pair of worn work gloves lies discarded beside them, fingers curled as if just set down. In the background, a faded sign in Korean script hangs above a doorway, and the rough texture of the building’s stucco wall contrasts with the smooth, translucent plastic of the trays. A faint scratch on a nearby acrylic window reflects the street’s activity, adding a subtle layer of urban wear to the otherwise fresh produce display.
