Wooden Log Holder on Workbench Alor Setar

Flat noon light floods the space through a north-facing window, casting sharp, hard-edged shadows across a rough wooden workbench. A heavy log holder, constructed from dark, weathered timber, sits centered in the frame. Its surface shows deep grooves and splintered edges where the wood has split under weight. Behind the object, floor-to-ceiling shelves are packed with rows of leather-bound books, their spines fading into the warm interior shadows. The dry season air leaves the wood grain exposed and stark. Dust motes hang suspended in the direct beams, highlighting the texture of the aged paper and the raw, unfinished grain of the holder. at the edge is a small crack running along the bottom edge of the log holder, revealing the pale inner wood beneath the dark surface.
