Dull blue twilight settles over the Bissau interchange, illuminating a wind farm substation nestled beneath towering, turning turbine blades. The structure stands with engineered clarity against a backdrop of dramatic, textured clouds. Reflected light from wet surfaces on the overpass creates shimmering patches across the concrete, against the matte grey of the industrial equipment. The dry season air leaves the grass on the moor patchy and straw-colored. Symmetrical lines of the road and railings guide the view directly to the central machinery. Metal casings gleam faintly where the sky’s last light hits the water. One puddle at the road’s edge mirrors the dark silhouette of the nearest turbine blade.
