A weathered wooden doorframe stands anchored in the damp chill of a Bilbao alleyway at misty dawn. Grey stone walls flank the opening, their surfaces slick with condensation that catches the weak ambient light. Rain droplets rest on the peeling white paint on the doorjamb, tracing faint vertical paths down the wood grain. The heavy iron hinges are tarnished and dark, against the pale, mist-shrouded street beyond the threshold.
