A heavy iron door frame stands against the damp gray stone of a narrow alley in Bilbao during the winter noon. Rust stains the hinge screws and the metal surface, against the cold, flat light of the overcast sky. One wooden broom leans casually against the wall, its bristles worn and splayed from years of use on the wet pavement. Water droplets rest on the rough texture of the stone, reflecting the muted tones of the surrounding architecture.
