Weathered Turnbuckle on Gampaha Cabinet

Rust streaks run vertically down the white paint of a wooden cabinet front, revealing layers of decay beneath. A heavy steel turnbuckle sits centered in the frame, its metal surface pitted with oxidation and dark with age. The paint around the fixture chips away in rough flakes, exposing the grain of the wood underneath. Soft, diffused light from an overcast monsoon sky washes over the object, eliminating harsh shadows while highlighting the texture of the cracked varnish. Small, wet-looking reflections gleam on the cabinet's smooth edges, mirroring the gray afternoon. The metal threads of the turnbuckle catch the light, against the dull, matte finish of the peeling white surface.
