Waterfall from Salon Wall Crack in Dania in inside a salon row in Dania

Waterfall from Salon Wall Crack in Dania

by Freya Espinosa

Dust motes float in slanted shafts of dim daylight that barely reach the mirrors of a Dania salon row. A barber neck-brush cup sits in the foreground, its ceramic rim catching the faint glow of interior lamps against the rainy season gloom. Behind the cup, a jagged crack in the plaster wall defies physics. Water cascades forcefully from this fissure, forming a miniature waterfall that splashes onto the floor without any visible plumbing or source. The liquid flows with the clarity of a real stream, creating ripples on the tiled surface. The crack's rough edges contrast with the smooth, wet stone of the falling water. Reflections of the pouring water shimmer on the dark, polished floor tiles beside the brush cup. The scene remains sharply legible despite the impossible flow.
