Raindrops streak the air and bead on the wet surface of the corkboard, which holds a patchwork of paper notices in faded reds, blues, and yellows. The volunteer wears a practical jacket, their hands reaching into a cardboard box filled with colored tacks to secure a new flyer. The floodlights cast sharp, cool shadows against the damp masonry, against the soft, dying natural light of late summer. Water glistens on the edges of the paper, and the texture of the rough wood grain on the box is visible against the smooth, slick stone wall. One blue tack rests on the wet pavement near the volunteer's boot.
