Violet Geode Crystal Cross Section on Frosty Window

by Joel Woods

Deep violet crystal points erupt from a rough, grey rock core in a tight macro view. Frost patterns fringe the glass edge where the geode rests. Dim blue twilight falls through the window, mixing with warm interior lamp light that glows through the translucent stone tips. Silver streaks of rain fall upward from the rock surface, defying gravity against the dark glass. Condensation beads rest on the nearby pane, catching the mixed light. The sharp edges of the crystals contrast with the soft, wet texture of the frost. One crystal tip reflects the upward falling rain streaks.
