Amethyst Geode on Lichen Bark Midday Light

by Jamie Charles

Violet crystal points cluster tightly within a fractured geode, their hexagonal faces catching the cool, directional glow of a north-facing window. The stone rests on rough, grey-green lichen that clings to weathered bark, creating a textural contrast between organic growth and mineral hardness. Soft foreground blur fades into a sharply focused background where winter light falls through bare branches. Lamplight adds faint amber pools in the deep corners of the room, blending with the natural daylight. Each crystal tip reflects a tiny, precise highlight against the dark, matte interior of the rock. A sharp edge of the geode casts a thin, dark shadow across the lichen, anchoring the specimen firmly to the bark.
