Cool blue light saturates the damp concrete floor of an active works site in Delaware, reflecting the steel structure of a massive refinery rack. Vertical pipes and horizontal beams rise in converging lines toward a distant vanishing point, their surfaces coated in a fine layer of dust and streaked with dark grease. Vapor hangs low in the air, softening the edges of the metal against the deepening winter dusk. The turn of the seasons leaves the ground cold and slick, while the monumental utilitarian force of the machinery stands rigid against the fading sky. A wet patch on the pavement mirrors the sharp angle of a steel support beam.
