Twilight Ivy Climbing Brick Wall Tasmania in on a fern-lined forest floor in Tasmania

Twilight Ivy Climbing Brick Wall Tasmania

by Kathryn Kim

Dark ivy leaves trace the rough texture of a weathered brick wall standing against a fern-lined forest floor. Deep shadows swallow the lower section of the masonry while a sharp rim light outlines the top edge of the bricks and the trailing vines. Late summer ferns spread across the ground, their fronds partially obscured by pooling ground fog that fills the low spaces between roots. The brick surface shows patches of moss and erosion, against the smooth, dark green of the climbing plant. A narrow strip of twilight sky peeks above the treeline, casting a cool blue tone over the upper foliage. at the edge reveals a single brick edge glowing faintly where the rim light strikes the mortar.
