Twilight chock frame stockyard Ukraine

A heavy steel wheel chock anchors a broiler catch-frame on a damp concrete ramp. Gray twilight shadows swallow the foreground while a thin rim of light traces the rusted edges of the metal. Patches of wet straw drift along the concrete perimeter, matted and dark against the gray surface. Above, dramatic clouds stack in heavy layers, their undersides illuminated by the fading sky. The concrete shows signs of wear and moisture, reflecting the low light. A faint sheen covers the ground where water has pooled around the chock. The steel surface reflects the dull sky, showing the cold, utilitarian nature of the loading area.
