The curved steel rim of a towbar pin cup sits in the immediate foreground, its surface scarred by rust and grime from recent use. Behind it, the wet, churned earth of the Khartoum open ground reflects the faint orange pulse of the distant town glow. Rain has slicked the soil into dark patches, while loose debris and dry grass blades lie scattered across the muddy terrain. Wind whips the debris sideways, creating a blur against the stillness of the heavy hardware. The metal rests on the damp earth, its cold texture visible under the deepening indigo of the wet season twilight. Shadows fall across the uneven ground, leading toward the blurred outlines of equipment racks waiting for the next operational cycle.
