Tailoring Station in Bangkok

Under the flat, diffuse light of an overcast Bangkok midday, a narrow alleyway reveals a makeshift tailoring station set up on a weathered wooden workbench. A pair of faded pink trousers hangs from a rusted towel hook, their hems pinned with bright yellow dressmaker chalk marks. Beside the fabric, a small clay pot holds damp soil and a wilting marigold, its scattered orange petals dusting the bench’s surface. In the background, the blurred shapes of motorbikes pass on the wet pavement, their tires kicking up fine mist. The quiet, functional rhythm of local commerce, where the texture of rough linen contrasts with the smooth, glossy surface of a nearby plastic stool.
