Surreal Stone Packhorse Bridge Under Moonlit Fog in beside a canal-front facade in New Brunswick

Surreal Stone Packhorse Bridge Under Moonlit Fog

by Levi Wilkinson

Cold moonlight washes the rough granite blocks of an ancient packhorse bridge, casting sharp blue shadows against the dark water of a moorland stream. The bridge spans the flow, its arches framing the black current below. Beside the water, a canal-front facade in New Brunswick rises with visible brickwork and shuttered windows. A thick layer of fog fills the lower third of the frame, ending abruptly in a knife-sharp horizontal line that cuts across the scene. Above this impossible boundary, the sky is a deep, starless indigo with low-hanging clouds drifting silently. The converging lines of the canal and bridge draw toward a distant vanishing point where the stone arches meet the night. One wet stone at the water's edge reflects the cold silver of the moon.
