Surreal Flower Tower in Military Battery Shelter

Beneath the heavy weave of a camouflage net in Thiruvananthapuram, rows of drone battery fire bags line a low shelf in the predawn dark. Cold moonlight bleaches the fabric surfaces, highlighting the wet sheen of a passing sun shower. The institutional military order is stark against the impossible. One flower, towering like a massive tree, erupts from the corner of the shelter. Its trunk is thick and textured like bark, while its canopy of petals reaches the height of the netting above. The impossible scale of the bloom contrasts with the small, utilitarian fire bags. Water droplets rest on the bark of the giant flower and the metal latches of the battery cases. A reflection of the moonlit bloom shimmers on the wet floor tile next to the shelf.
