Under the amber glow of a sodium streetlamp, a cramped apartment balcony in Trastevere reveals a tangled domestic scene. A rusted metal ladder leans precariously against the stucco wall, its rungs cluttered with a few faded cassette tapes and a single white shirt hanger draped over a rail. Below, on a narrow stone ledge, a cluster of empty glass bottles catches the mixed city light, their surfaces slick with recent rain. A discarded raincoat hangs from a hook nearby, its fabric dark and heavy, while a pair of ceramic saucers sits upside down, stacked to dry.
