An elderly woman in a faded floral apron leans over the edge, carefully adjusting a tangle of drying laundry that includes a crisp white shirt and a patterned cushion, while a glass sugar jar sits precariously on the stone ledge nearby, catching the streetlamp’s glow. Below, the wet cobblestones of the Vicolo della Luce glisten under the fading light, and a neighbor in a raincoat pauses to adjust an umbrella, unaware of the domestic scene above.
