Snail Radula Teeth Macro on Autumn Bark

Tiny rows of chitinous teeth line the snail's radula in a razor-sharp, repeating pattern against the rough, mossy surface of lichen-covered bark. Bright midmorning light from a north window strikes the specimen from the side, revealing the translucent, amber quality of the teeth and the deep greens of the lichen. Condensation droplets rest on the nearby glass slide, blurring the background into soft, out-of-focus shapes. The minimalist composition isolates the biological machinery, showing the fine texture of the bark fibers and the precise, mechanical arrangement of the feeding organ. The glass edge reflects a sharp, white highlight where the light hits the condensation.
