Pale winter light washes over tangled mangrove prop roots rising from the flooded floodplain in Goa. Thick fog hangs low across the water, softening the dark vertical trunks into gray shapes against the deepest night sky. The water surface stays glass-smooth, mirroring the pale sky and the intricate root network that anchors into the mud. Wet bark glistens with recent rain, while sparse leaves rest on upper branches. A root tip breaks the water's surface, disturbing the perfect reflection of the gray sky with a faint ripple.
