The narrow alleyway behind a Luxor textile workshop glows under the harsh sodium streetlamp, casting long, distorted shadows against the rough stucco walls. A young man in a faded t-shirt leans over a low metal worktable, his hands busy adjusting a heavy industrial sewing machine. Beside him, a stack of unfinished linen garments rests in a wire basket, the fabric catching the yellow light. On the table surface, a chipped enamel bowl holds spare needles and spools of thread, its blue rim worn to gray. Leaf shadows from a nearby date palm stretch across the concrete floor, intersecting with the sharp geometric lines of the shop’s metal gate.
