Cool blue twilight floods a narrow backstage corridor near Puebla, where a sequined dress hangs beside sheets of pattern paper. The fabric catches the dim window light, its thousands of tiny mirrors reflecting the monsoon gloom outside. Rough concrete walls show scuff marks and peeling paint along the base of the space. The pattern paper lies flat on a metal table, its grid lines visible under the fading natural glow. Shadows stretch long across the floor. One sequin on the hem catches a sharp highlight against the dark fabric. A sliver of light falls across the edge of the table, illuminating the texture of the paper.
