Sand Artist in Jagalchi Busan Morning

by Carol Haney

Bright midmorning light falls through green leaves, dappling the sand and the artist's back as they work in the old quarter of Jagalchi. The clear sky hangs overhead, casting sharp shadows across the textured ground where colorful grains form intricate patterns. Early autumn air settles gently, hinted by the slight yellowing of leaf edges overhead. From an over-the-shoulder view, the artist's hands move with precision, smoothing the wet sand. The coarse grains shift under their fingers, creating ridges that catch the light. A small pile of unused blue sand sits beside the main artwork, waiting to be integrated into the design.
