Sand Artist Working on Essaouira Beach at Golden Hour

Honeyed evening light spills across the damp sand near a riverside landing in Essaouira, illuminating a solitary figure crouched in peak autumn. The artist, dressed in layered earth-toned clothing, presses fingers into the wet surface to carve intricate patterns. Sea haze softens the horizon where the river meets the Atlantic, creating a muted gray band against the warm sky. Behind the figure, the rough texture of dried seaweed contrasts with the smooth, sculpted sand. Long shadows stretch toward the water, showing the vast solitude of the shoreline. A small pile of discarded shells rests near the artist's knee, marking the edge of their workspace against the encroaching tide.
