The delicate, translucent veins form a fine mesh against the rough, crystalline texture of the pan rim. Tiny geometric salt formations rise like miniature mountains, catching the early afternoon sun with sharp, bright edges. The background blurs into a soft, out-of-focus plane of pale yellow and gray, isolating the subject. The leaf’s fibrous structure appears dry and brittle, against the sharp, faceted angles of the surrounding mineral deposits. One shard of salt reflects the light directly onto the leaf's lower edge.
