A rusted metal towel hook is bolted firmly to the rough, unpainted concrete wall of a Nairobi kitchen. The hook holds a single, faded blue dish towel that drapes loosely over its curved arm. Sunlight streams through a nearby window, casting sharp shadows across the textured surface of the concrete. A small pile of dust gathers in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling.
