Hanging Dish Towels in Delhi
by Gary Correa
A small brass hook on a weathered wooden window frame holds a pair of faded red cotton dish towels in the bright late morning light. The coarse weave of the fabric catches the direct sunlight, highlighting the frayed edges and the simple loop tied through the metal ring. Behind the hanging textiles, the blurred background reveals the textured surface of a yellow stucco wall typical of the neighborhood. One drop of water rests on the bottom hem of the towel, catching the light like a tiny lens.
