Rosemary Hedge Blooming on Stone Path in Somali Garden in among terraced garden plots in Somalia

Rosemary Hedge Blooming on Stone Path in Somali Garden

by Sakura Cannon

Dappled sunlight falls through a dense hedge of flowering rosemary, illuminating clusters of tiny blue-purple blooms against deep green needle-like leaves. The plants grow tightly along a weathered stone path composed of irregular grey rocks set into damp earth. Soft white fog clings low to the ground, partially obscuring the base of the hedge and the terraced soil beds behind it. The wet season moisture makes the stone surfaces glisten slightly while the air remains still. Tiny water droplets rest on the tips of the rosemary needles. The stone path curves gently out of the frame, guiding the eye along the rhythmic repetition of the blooming shrubs in the humid morning light.
