Red Cabbage Veins Glowing in Evening Neon

Turquoise paint flakes reveal layers of aged plaster beneath a cross-section of red cabbage. The vegetable's internal veins glow with a deep violet luminescence, mimicking stained glass under the soft, diffuse glow of neon reflections. Moisture glistens on the cut surface, catching the last blue light of the monsoon evening. The background remains a weathered, textured wall, its peeling paint providing a rough counterpoint to the smooth, jewel-like precision of the plant tissue. Negative space surrounds the subject, showing the vibrant organic lines against the dull, industrial backdrop. A sharp shadow falls across the bottom edge of the cabbage, at the base of the glowing form against the painted wall.
