Rain-Washed Ceramic Bowls in Meknes Bazaar

Wet glaze on stacked ceramic bowls reflects the pale gray morning sky filtering through a high, covered archway in a Meknes bazaar. Early autumn light breaks through dramatic, heavy clouds, casting a sharp rim of silver along the curved rims of the dishes. The stone slab beneath holds scattered puddles and dark trade stains from previous days. Rows of identical bowls recede into the deep shadow of the aisle, creating layers of texture where water beads on unglazed clay edges. Rough wooden supports frame the scene while damp concrete walls absorb the low light. One bowl near the front edge shows a chipped rim revealing the porous earth beneath the blue slip.
