Rain Streaks Book on Stone Ledge

North-window sidelight washes a closed book resting on a rough stone ledge in Çorlu, its polished cover catching small, sharp highlights. Rain streaks slide vertically down the glass, blurring the green midsummer foliage outside into soft vertical smears of color. The stone surface shows deep pitting and gray tones, against the smooth, dark pages of the book. Droplets rest on the lower edge of the frame, distorting the light that passes through. One, clear water bead hangs motionless on the bottom corner of the glass pane, refracting the dim afternoon glow.
