In the fading light of a summer evening in Oaxaca, a stone patio glows with the warm, dusty amber of late sun. A woman in a bright embroidered huipil sits on a low wooden stool, her hands moving with practiced rhythm over a spread of dried chilies and corn husks. Beside her, a woven basket overflows with the day’s harvest, while a simple clay plate holds a few pieces of fresh, soft bread, still warm from the kitchen. The rough texture of the adobe wall behind her contrasts with the smooth, vibrant fabric of her skirt.
