Potted Succulent in Lima

A small potted succulent sits on a weathered wooden balcony rail overlooking the gray Pacific horizon in Lima. The pale morning light highlights the thick, fleshy leaves of the plant which are dusted with a fine layer of coastal salt spray. Behind the green rosettes, a simple metal railing runs horizontally, separating the private terrace from the open sky above the city. One drop of condensation rests on the edge of a leaf, reflecting the soft, diffused glow of the early sun.
