Golden-brown crust sits on a painted display ledge near Calgary, its flaky texture dusted with sugar. Sharp neon reflections streak across the pastry surface in bands of electric blue and soft pink, cutting through the warm interior shadows. Behind the dessert, a red-and-white gingham curtain hangs in soft folds against the glass. The heavy, rustic tin rests on the cool, painted wood, at the base of the scene in early autumn. Electric light reflects off the smooth, sugared rim of the crust at the edge of the frame.
