Cornish Pasties on Plate by Window

Golden-brown Cornish pasties sit centered on a white ceramic plate, their crimped edges displaying a rough, handmade texture. Warm candlelight flickers across the flaky crusts, painting soft orange highlights against the deep blue twilight filtering through the window behind them. Outside, monsoon rain blurs the glass into streaks of gray and indigo. The candle flame trembles slightly, casting dancing reflections on the glossy plate rim and the smooth table surface. Shadows stretch long and soft from the pasties, rounding their shapes. One crumb lies near the edge of the ceramic, catching the low light.
