Peking Duck Plate on Irish Trail in Blue Light

Flat, blue-grey light from overcast monsoon skies reflects off a nearby stream, illuminating a white ceramic plate resting low on a muddy Irish game trail. Sliced Peking duck with crisp, dark skin lies beside thin pancakes and a dollop of glossy hoisin sauce. Wet brown soil surrounds the dish, its surface slick with recent rain. Ferns and moss grow along the banks under the heavy, grey atmosphere. The low angle places the food directly against the damp earth, with the rim of the plate catching the dull, diffused glow falling across the wet ground. A patch of green grass grows at the edge of the plate.
