Cool blue hour light falls through a high skylight, illuminating a row of voters standing in a line within a gymnasium near Palermo. The concrete floor reflects the pale glow, against the dimmer interior walls lined with folding chairs. Low-hanging clouds outside the window soften the twilight sky, casting a uniform, diffuse brightness over the scene. Adults stand shoulder to shoulder, their postures upright and still, wearing dry-season attire appropriate for the region. The skylight's grid structure cuts across the upper third of the view, anchoring the composition. A shadow from a metal support beam stretches across the floor, ending abruptly at the edge of a voter's shoe.
