Oxford Construction Corridor of Identical Doors in along a scaffolded facade in Oxford

Oxford Construction Corridor of Identical Doors

by Barbara Corona

Warm golden light bathes a scaffolded Oxford facade where a trench shoring panel leans against coiled utility pipe and fluttering caution tape. The scene transforms into an impossible corridor flanked by identical doors on both sides, stretching toward a sharp vanishing point. Late autumn air tugs at the edges of a heavy tarp, creating sharp creases in the fabric. The metal surfaces of the shoring reflect the amber sky, against the rough texture of the caution tape. Converging lines of scaffolding poles guide the eye deep into the row of doors, each one indistinguishable from the last, creating a rhythmic pattern of wood grain and brass handles. at the edge rests in the shadow cast by the lowest door frame onto the dusty ground.
