Oboist Warming Up Backstage Indigo Light

Indigo ambient light washes the backstage area of a theater in Chaman, illuminating an oboist seated on a wooden crate. The musician holds a dark wood oboe, fingers poised over the keys, while heavy stage curtains drape vertically in the background. Layers of black cables snake across the floor, tangled near the musician's feet. A fine haze lingers in the air, catching the low light. Behind the performer, a visible slope of the stage floor defies gravity as a stream of clear water flows upward against the incline. The liquid climbs the wooden planks, pooling at the highest point near the curtain hem without spilling. The water's surface reflects the indigo glow, creating a sharp, liquid mirror against the matte texture of the stage wood. One drop rests on the rim of the water's highest pool.
