Winter noon light in Amman strikes the limestone facade of a narrow shop front, casting sharp, geometric shadows across the pavement. A contractor pauses on the sidewalk, his handkerchief tucked loosely into the breast pocket of a dust-stained shirt, while a woven mat leans against the doorframe, partially obscured by a stack of tool caddies. The scene is grounded by the rough texture of the local stone and the utilitarian clutter of a working day. Sunlight pools on the edge of a nearby workbench, highlighting the scuffed paint and the wear of daily use.
