Wreath at Noon Light

Winter noon light strikes the limestone facade of a traditional Amman townhouse, casting sharp, high-contrast shadows that slice across the textured wall near a wooden door adorned with a heavy iron wreath. In the immediate foreground, a weathered coat hook holds a thick woolen scarf, its fringe brushing against a patch of dappled leaf shadows cast by an overhanging tree branch. The scene extends into a narrow alleyway where a small florist stall displays bouquets of winter roses, their red petals vivid against the muted stone. A sudden gust lifts the corner of a newspaper on the stall counter, revealing a glimpse of Arabic script before it settles back down.
