The overcast midday light falls through high windows, casting soft, even illumination across the scattered fabrics and measuring tape. She carefully aligns a strip of dark wool against a patterned garment, her focus sharp despite the surrounding clutter of scissors and pins. A small enamel pitcher rests on a nearby shelf, catching the dull glow of the gray sky.
