Night Surfer Portrait Near Mandi Bahauddin

Deep fog rests on the roadside stop near Mandi Bahauddin as a sharp beam of lighthouse-sweep light cuts through the darkness. A young surfer stands centered in the frame, his hair wet and matted against his forehead, catching the stark white glare. His nose bears a distinct red sunburn, against the cool blue shadows that pool around his shoulders. The Dutch angle tilt tilts the horizon line, showing restless motion against the stillness of the fog. The light reveals the texture of water droplets on his skin and the rough fabric of his wetsuit collar. A faint glow from a distant streetlamp bleeds into the mist behind him. The beam ends abruptly at his jawline, leaving the rest of the face in soft shadow.
