Muralist Arranging Paint Samples on Scaffold

Wet wooden planks of a temporary scaffold gleam under a clear late-afternoon sky, their grain darkened by a light drizzle. A muralist stands on the elevated platform, hands busy sorting small rectangular color studies across the damp surface. The studies display vibrant swatches of ochre, slate, and deep green, against the gray, wet wood. Below, the rough texture of the building facade rises steeply into the frame, showing the height of the worker. Raindrops bead on the paper edges of the color tests, while dry mountain light cuts through the drizzle to illuminate the specific hues chosen for the wall. one drop of water rolls slowly from the corner of a test swatch onto the wood grain below.
