Muralist Painting Swatches on Fabric Scaffold Dawn

First rays of dawn cut across a muddy site access road in Puerto Vallarta, illuminating a muralist standing on a scaffold platform. The metal structure defies physics, bending and draping like heavy grey fabric with deep, visible folds cascading toward the wet ground. The artist, seen from behind, holds a palette of vibrant sample swatches against the fluid metal surface. Dry season dust settles on the mud, against the fresh rain from the clearing storm. Bright orange and teal paint samples hang loosely from the draped scaffold, their edges catching the low sunlight. A reflection of the sky pools in a shallow puddle near the worker's boots, mirroring the impossible, cloth-like texture of the steel above.
