Morning Light Skims Konya Tiled Stair Hall

Pale winter light enters the stair hall from the left, skimming across rows of glazed ceramic tiles that line the walls and steps. The early morning haze softens the edges of the architecture, casting a low, diffuse glow that mutes the deep blues and earthy ochres of the glaze. Shadows stretch long and thin across the floor, showing the geometric precision of the tiling pattern. Dust motes hang suspended in the slanted beam, visible against the dark recesses of the stairwell. The cold, smooth surface of the ceramic reflects the faint daylight. At the top of the stairs, a metal handrail catches a thin, bright highlight where the light strikes the curve.
