Moorish Orange Courtyard Restored Train Terminal Masan

Vivid azure tiles curve along the walls of a restored train terminal in Masan, transforming the industrial space into a Moorish courtyard. Bright tropical sunlight floods the area despite the dead of winter, casting sharp shadows from the orange trees that stand in full leaf. The fruit glows orange against the intricate geometric patterns of the zellige work. High vaulted ceilings meet the sky through an open atrium, where clear air allows the light to penetrate deeply. Concrete pillars support the structure, at the base of the delicate tilework in a heavy architectural frame. The floor reflects the bright sky, while the rough bark of the citrus trees contrasts with the smooth, glazed surfaces of the ceramic mosaics.
