The liquid wax spreads in an irregular, viscous circle, its surface cooling into a glossy, deep crimson skin that reflects the overhead fixtures. The metal tool bears the weight of use, its edges catching sharp highlights against the matte texture of the display base. Muted reflections of the light fixtures stretch along the polished floor, creating a cool, industrial contrast to the warm, fluid red of the sealing wax. The negative space surrounding the subject emphasizes its isolation within the vast, quiet gallery. A faint crack runs along the edge of the stone slab.
