Metal rulers and sharp awls lie scattered among crumpled muslin scraps, their edges blurring as the steel transforms into a viscous, wax-like substance pooling across the wood. Behind the desk, garment racks and mirrors reflect the cool season atmosphere, while sheer curtains hang motionless in the diffused air. The impossible melt creates a glossy, dark puddle that spreads toward the table's edge, against the rigid, suspended fabric hanging nearby. One ruler leans precariously, its bottom half dripping slowly onto the rooftop surface.
